THERE IS NO GOOD REASON WHY LIFTING A CELLAR DOOR, HATCH OR TRAP DOOR SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS!

Water ingress is kept to a minimum by neoprene weather seals and/or weathering (provided they are kept clean and remain undamaged).

All external doorsets are capable of supporting a motor car.

Our Self Opening TRAP DOORS and HATCHES are lifted by Gas Struts(similar to a car tailgate)which are pressure adjusted to give a slow lifting stroke when released and can be easily pushed closed and latched shut by hand or foot after use.

Additional SAFETY has been addressed by the availability of cellar doors with a secondary pedestrian rated GRILLE DOOR which safeguards the opening whilst the top hatch is open. These can be operated by hand or via a hoop attached to your hoist.

COMPARTMENTATION between floors can now be achieved without having to build a fire resistant shaft beneath the TRAP DOORS. We can supply a certified 60 minute fire resistant HATCH to British standards

HEAVY DUTY TRAP DOORS are available both for horizontal and vertical applications where extra strength and durability are paramount.

MAINTENANCE requirements are kept to the minimum. Stainless steel hinges benefit from a little oil every 6 months, and the neoprene weather seals need a soft brush round them when they become fouled.
